Exploring cultures and communities – the slow way

A look ahead at hidden europe 4

article summary —

In this issue of hidden europe alone we visit a score of countries, and yet there are still some nations that have scarcely had a mention in hidden europe. So in our next issue, it is time to fill in some gaps. We shall feature Slovenia, that most amiable of central European countries, a place of picture perfect mountain valleys and Habsburg charm, where Adriatic and Alpine Europe meet. And Macedonia, we see, has been overlooked thus far, a deficiency we shall remedy when we report from Europe's smallest museum. We shall celebrate the appeal of three exquisitely preserved small towns: one in each of Sweden, Denmark and Belgium. And, as always, in hidden europe, we shall probe Europe's unsung exotica, from the Urals to the Atlantic.
